Is Selector Entertainment available for events outside of weddings?Yes, Selector Entertainment caters to a variety of events including corporate gatherings, private parties, bars and restaurants. across. All of our DJs and musicians highly versatile, and are equipped to adapt to different event dynamics and preferences.

Do you travel?Yes! we regularly do weddings in the Hunter Valley, Kangaroo Valley, South Coast and more. We even travel interstate. We just ask that you please cover our travel expenses which will be outlined in the quote.

Do you bring your own DJ equipment and speakers?Yes. We are fully mobile and offer different equipment packages depending on how many guests you're expecting and the venue space. Our most basic DJ & Equipment package includes the hire of: - DJ Decks - Speakers - Party Lights - Microphone

How far in advance should I book?We recommend reaching out as soon as you've secured your event date. Our strict selection process for DJs and musicians means that availability can be limited. We typically book out months in advance. However, depending on availability, we can sometimes accommodate late bookings.

Can the DJ play through dinner service?Yes. We tailor our music to suit each different part of the event. Depending on your preferences, during dinner service we will play softer music (for example: Jazz, Smooth R&B, Chill House, Slow Pop). We certainly adapt our volume to be at an appropriate level too, as to not be uncomfortable especially for elderly guests.

Can the DJ also MC?Whilst our DJ's can make some quick casual announcements, we highly recommend engaging a professional MC. We've got some fantastic MC's on our roster. The role of an MC isn't just to make announcements, but rather to ensure the entire night runs on time. The MC will need to communicate with the venue staff, kitchen, DJ, photographers and bridal party all throughout the night to ensure that everyone is where they need to be at the right time so a moment is never missed. This can be really difficult for a DJ to do at the same time as DJ'ing - they're 2 separate roles.

Can you play cultural music?Yes. With a very multicultural line-up of talent, we're all well equipped with multi-cultural music from Arabic, Egyptian, Greek, Italian, Macedonian, Montenegran and more. You just let us know which songs/artists you'd like us to plan and when you want them played! (Typically right after the cake for Weddings!)

Are you insured?Yes. Selector Entertainment is insured as well as each individual DJ or musician. Many other agencies and artists are not insured at all so this is always an important question to ask. Noting, most venues will require to see the entertainers insurance otherwise they won't allow them to operate.
